Name the dictionaries
To Booko took its name from a word: το μπούκο, the book, recorded among Greek Australians in Cairns. The Italian and Spanish dictionaries will be named the same way, by the people who speak them. Each shortlist below is built on words from the record.
Choose one, or put forward your own. The community editors and advisers make the final choice from everything proposed and how people chose, and whoever proposed the winning name is credited on the dictionary. How the consultation works.
The Italian dictionary
The Italglish Project. Its shortlist is built on words Italian migrants made from English.
The Spanish dictionary
The Spanglish Project. Its shortlist is built on words Spanish speakers made from English, with Australia given the same standing as the United States.
